Happy New Year! I had the most amazing late fall deer hunt and was thankful for my
binoculars which allowed me to observe for a couple hours the deer moving through the
hill sides and then set up a plan to walk them out and end up with amazing results for my daughter in law on her first deer hunt! Could not have been done without binoculars and patience!

Things to consider: Will it be used for true professional use? What will your maximum range be? How much of your shooting will be at dusk, in low light? What is the caliber of your rifle? Leupold Binoculars: Which Leupold binocular is best for you?

Copyright © ARW Ventures LLC
http://www.bestopticsunlimited.com/

With Leupold binoculars you'll like what you see. Unlike more inexpensive binoculars, Leupold binoculars feature precision optics for significantly better image clarity, brightness and color transmission. Optics on all Leupold binoculars are crisp and bright. Are all Leupold binoculars and spotting scopes waterproof.
Lets look at some specific features and styles that may be applicable in making a choice that will be right for you. What you are doing, what you are watching, and where you are watching it. There are also some personal things about yourself to take into consideration. Do you wear eyeglasses? What is the size and strength of your hands? Have you ever had trouble in the past fitting a binocular to your eyes distance so that you saw one single picture rather than two partial circles? Do you use the binoculars when you travel and will you be carrying them around a lot?
With all this in mind, we've put together some recommendations and considerations to help you determine what is best for you.
Are children be the primary users of the binocular?
There are a few too seldom considered facts about selecting binoculars for use with children. Never use compact binoculars with children. Even though it may seem like a good idea due to the smaller size of compacts, the magnification levels are too high and the objective diameters are too small, offering a smaller exit pupil, for children to use successfully.
First, while there are inexpensive toy binoculars on the market, they should not be used by children for any amount of time viewing anything; the strain placed upon the eyes is simply too great.
Second, children one must consider the measurement between the pupil of one eye and the pupil of the other to which the two halves of a binocular must be aligned by the hinge if a single binocular image is to be seen through the optic) that is too small for compatibility with ordinary binoculars.
Third, all beginners experience difficulty locating objects in the field through a binocular. There are too few points of reference in the field for a beginner to quickly locate a reference point and move from it to the object desired to be in view. Lower magnification level as well as a wider field of view will resolve this.
Fourth, smaller hands require a smaller overall binocular body to allow the controls to be easily reached and manipulated.

Recommended models for children are: Katmai 6x32mm and Yosemite 6x30 mm

General Purpose Leupold Binoculars
Let's face it sometimes it's just nice to have a binocular on hand. It may not be for any specific purpose. Once in a while it gets taken to a game or along on a vacation to the mountains. Often in such cases, the primary users of the binocular might not be what would be called intensive optic users, thus a lower magnification level will make it easier to use by those less accustomed to locating an object through an optic. As the binocular may not be frequently used, keeping the purchase price to a fairly modest level is often a factor in the choice. Therefore, something fairly straight-forward and easy to use by a wide range of people is the best idea.
Recommended Leupold general use models:
Olympic 8x42mm
Katmai 8x32mm
Katmai 6x32mm
Cascades 8x42mm
Cascades 8x42mm Internal Focus Porro
Mesa 8x42mm
Mesa 8x23mm Compact
Yosemite 6x30mm

Recommended models for birding: Birders are the most technically demanding of all binocular users due to the need for close focus and need for sharp resolution as well as a demanding field of view. Generally 8x is considered best but there are some exceptions for the tropical birdwatchers.
General field birding:
Golden Ring 8x42mm
Golden Ring 8x32mm
Pinnacles 8x42mm
Olympic 8x42mm

Cascades 10x42mm Internal Focus Porro
Mesa 10x50mm
Tropical birding:
Katmai 6x32mm

General North American big game:
Golden Ring 10x42mm
Golden Ring 10x32mm
Pinnacles 10x42mm
Olympic 10x50mm
Olympic 12x50mm

Olympic 8x42mm
Katmai 8x32mm

Archers and those hunting in very dense forests (such as the Coast Range in Oregon or Washington) would do well to consider an even lower magnification model:
Katmai 6x32mm
Yosemite 6x30mm

Recommmended models for Turkey hunting. Turkey hunters who need to see the birds against foliage covered terrain, must have exact color resolution which is necessary to view the head color as well as the beard.

Golden Ring 8x32mm
Cascades 8x42mm Camouflage
Mesa 8x42mm Camouflage
Mesa 8x23mm Compact
Yosemite 6x30mm Natural

Sporting Optics - Lens factors

Copyright © ARW Ventures LLC
http://www.BestOpticsUnlimited.com

Choosing the proper lens type for your riflescope is important. I have inclused some of the important features and information for making your proper selection however there are more to consider that we will talk about anther time.

The distance that your eye must be to the ocular lens to get a full, clear picture is called eye relief. With many manufacturers lenses are coated with multiple layers of anti-reflective coatings for unmatched sharpness, resolution, and light transmission that borders on the theoretical maximum of 99. In some brands lens frames for a zoom lens system is axially slidably mounted in said riflescope tube for movement toward and away from each other for altering the magnification of the riflescope. Scopes transmit available light through the lenses to your eye, always losing a bit in the process. The larger the objective lens, the more you get through your eyepiece. Higher powered scopes are sometimes very critical in relation to the centering of your eye through the middle of the tube, and the distance your eye must be from the ocular lens. Higher recoiling guns including slug guns require lots of eye relief to prevent “scope eye” or the cut that somepeople get from the ocular lens of the scope coming back under the recoil and cutting a semicircular gash above the shooter’s eye. Leopold might have something going with their new VX-L line of scopes that combine a large objective lens with a contoured bottom that doesn’t interfere with your gun barrel, and lets you mount up to a 56mm lens with low rings. It is very possible to have a scope with single coated lenses to greatly outperform a scope with multicoated lenses. Fully multi-coated, scratch-resistant coatings eliminate annoying, image-degrading reflections and offer extraordinary brightness for a lifetime of trouble-free lens protection. Fully coated lenses for clarity in low and bright light.

Leupold VX-L Riflescope

Copyright © ARW Ventures LLC
http://www.BestOpticsUnlimited.com

The Leupold VX-L Riflescopes have a great reputation for brightness in an innovative package that allows maximum light transmission without high mounting. The reason these large 50mm and 56mm objective lens riflescopes can be mounted with low rings is that the objective lens is not circular, but rather has a cutout so the scope can be mounted much lower without barrel interference. Your field of view is still circular, and the generous Leuupold eye relief is not affected. Some higher powered VX-Ls have the popular and convenient side parallax adjustment. They are a bit heavier, but the exit pupil can be ridiculously large for a high powered scope and still be mounted in a position for an average eye to center without trying. For tactical rifles, the Leupold VX-L’s are great choices without compromise!

If you're looking for the finest optics available, look no further as Leupold is among the finest. Like the scopes that bear the Leupold name, these tough, reliable, high-performance riflescopes are covered by Leupold's Full Lifetime Guarantee.
